Election Duty And HEAD Master

              Should Head Master Be Aloof From Election Duty? 

           Where election fever is high in every nook and corner, administration is doing uphill task to make it transparent. People is talking about it as if it is their domestic matter and the candidate belongs to their family . So far candidates are concerned, they are at loggerheads with each other. One labels other as snake while other replies him claiming the respect no prime minister of India ever enjoyed.Some went far enough to claim that EVM might be tempered and election must be taken with paper ballat and stamp. News channel are broadcasting news of election only as if proceedings of world have been stopped since the tidings of election erupted.
             To make election successful, the election commission gave responsibility to DM. DM handed over it to SDO and SDO gave this responsibility to Tehsildaar. Now Tehsildaar ordered to Head master of schools to provide list of all employees of his/her school so that the national duty of election can be performed peacefully with the help of these teaching and non teaching employees.
              So far so good. The election planning is commendable and upto the mark till now. Now starts the problem. Assistant teachers and non teaching staff begin to throng head master and resort to eulogy for not including their name into the list. Even employees belonging to management have special right not to be included into this list demanded by tehseeldar for election duty. As a result, the head master uses his prerogative and shun his own name, his favourite co workers' names at his will and management candidates' names in compel.A list with the exclusion of these name is sent to Tehsil office. The Tehsil accepts this incomplete list and allots election duty to those whose name is included in this incomplete list sent by head master. If such type of negligence is found on the part of H.M, how can we expect his school bring societal change.
                  If we ask these head masters about not going to election duty, they say head master and principal are exception to election duty. If it is true, then i found a few head masters doing election duty. When I was going for election duty a person sitting beside me was BEO. When i asked him about his destination, he replied that he is going to perform his election duty as he was Presiding officer. If a BEO can perform his election duty, under whom HM works, why is head master an exception to election duty? When I reached my centre I was in reserve category, so i worked in collaboration with zonal officer. Amazingly my zonal officer was BDEO. Now I began to ponder that something has been wrong from school level.Then came the time of submission of material. The time was 2.00 o'clock at midnight. When i went to my zonal officer to receive my remuneration, the same feeling of something wrong was still vivid in my heart. All of sudden I saw District Magistrate standing on the stage. He was observing the proceeding calmly. He was appearing very exhausted but satisfied at the feeling that the election has been performed without any trouble and disturbance. Again I began to compare the situation. Are HM and his favourite subordinates more important than the above mentioned officials that they are reprieved every time. The answers are still vague, my thirst is still unquenched. Hope concerned offices take its note.
