Interrogative Sentence استفہامیہ / سوالیہ جملہ

In my previous blog, we have seen an
interrogative sentence is a sentence which is
basically used for asking question. The different
kinds of interrogative sentence are as follows :
1) Verbal / Yes-No Type Question
2) WH question
3) Alternative question
4) Tag question
in this blog we will discuss Verbal Yes-No type question because the topic affirmative interrogative(استفہامیہ اقراری) and Negative interrogative (استفہامیہ انکاری) is also prescribed in textbook of Urdu sbject [Classes ( XI : p no.71) (XII :p no.65)].
Verbal question is a question which starts with helping verb followed by subject. The answer of verbal question is always in yes or no like :
1) Is he at home ?
کیا وہ گھر پر ہے ؟
2) Hasn't he told you anything?
کیا اس نے آپکو
کچھ نہیں کہا ہے؟
👉If you try to get the answer of these two questions, you will get yes or no as your answer
اگر آپ مندرجہ بالا دونوں سوالوں کا جواب حاصل کرنا چاہتے ہوں تو سنے والا آپ کو ہاں یا نہ میں ہی جواب دے
گا
👉 Verbal question can be asked in two ways
معاون فعل سے شروع ہونے والے استفہامیہ جملوں کو دو طریقے سے پوچھا جا سکتا ہے
a)Affirmative Interrogative استفہامیہ اقراری
b)Negative Interrogative استفہامیہ انکاری
👉 A) if a verbal question does not include negation or any sense of negative sentence ،such type of sentence is called as affirmative interrogative
اگر استفہامیہ /سوالیہ جملہ اقرار کا اظہار کرتا ہے اور اس استفہامیہ جملے میں کوئی بھی لفظ نفی/لفظ انکار شامل نہیں ہیں تو اسے استفہامیہ اقراری کہتے ہیں یعنی ایسا سوال جس کے اندر نہیں کا لفظ
استعمال نہ کیا گیا ہو
لفظ انکار یا لفظ نفی : نہیں ،کبھی نہیں no ,never
1)Should we treat deprived and poor in this manner ?
2)Are day and night equal ?
3)Do you think I am helpless ?
b)Negative Interrogative استفہامیہ انکاری
a sentence with negative sense or a
word of negation is called negative
interrogative
ایسا استفہامیہ جملہ جس کے اندر لفظ انکاری یعنی نہیں کا لفظ موجود ہے اسے استفہامیہ انکاری کہتےہیں۔ یعنی ایسا سوال جس میں انکار موجود ہو۔
* Doesn't bad time go ?
* 'As you sow ,so you reap' don't you know
this dictum ?
Transformation Of Interrogative Sentence Into Assertive Sentence
استفہامیہ جملے کو بیانیہ جملے میں تبدیل کرنا
While changing interrogative sentence into
assertive sentence, you should pay
attention
towards the following points:
1)Bring auxiliary verb (helping verb) at the second
position after the subject
2) If interrogative sentence consists of an adverb
of negation ( not , no ,never ), it will be removed
while changing into assertive
اگر استفہامیہ جملے میں لفظ انکار (not/no/never) رہا تو اسے نکال دیں گے
3) If interrogative sentence is without adverb of
negation (not) ,you will have to use the word not
/no while changing into assertive sentence.
اگر استفہامیہ جملے میں لفظ انکار (not/never/no) موجود نہ ہو تو لفظ انکار(not/never/no) کا استعمال کریں گے
(استفہامیہ جملے سے بیانیہ جملے میں تبدیل کرنے کے لئے دو باتوں کا خیال رکھا جاتا ہے
1)ضمیر استفہام (سوالیہ لفظ) کو خارج کردے
2) اگر سوال میں حرف انکار/نفی (لفظ نہیں) موجود ہوتو بیانیہ جملے میں تبدیل کرتے وقت اس لفظ کو خارج کردے۔اگر سوال میں حرف نفی موجود نہ ہو تو بیانیہ جملے میں تبدیلی کے لئے حرف نفی یعنی *نہیں* کا لفظ استعمال کرے۔)

1) Shouldn't we serve elders ?
Answer : We should serve elders ?
کیا ہمیں بزرگوں کی خدمت نہیں کرنی چاہیے؟ 👈
جواب : ہمیں بزرگوں کی خدمت کرنی چاہیے👈
2)Doesn't bad time pass ?
Answer : Bad time passes definitely
کیا برا وقت گزر نہیں جاتا؟👈
جواب : برا وقت گزر جاتا ہے👈
3)'As you sow ,so you reap' don't you know this dictum ?
Answer : You know this dictum of 'as you sow ,so you reap '
جیسی کرنی ویسی بھرنی' کیا یہ بات تم نہیں جانتے'👈
جواب : جیسی کرنی ویسی بھرنی یہ بات تم جانتے ہو👈
1)Should we treat deprived and poor in this manner ?
Answer : We should not treat deprived and poor in this manner.
کیا محتاجوں کے ساتھ ایسے ہی سلوک کرنا چاہیے؟ 👈
جواب : محتاجوں کے ساتھ ایسا سلوک نہیں کرنا چاہیے 👈
2)Are day and night equal ?
Answer : Day and night are not equal.
کیا دن رات ہمیشہ برابر ہوتے ہیں ؟ 👈
جواب : دن رات ہمیشہ برابر نہیں ہوتے ہیں
3) Do you think I am helpless ?
Answer : I am not helpless.
تم سمجھتے ہو کہ میں مجبور ہوں ؟ 👈
میں مجبور نہیں ہوں 👈
👉 Won't Hamida consider it as her insult ?
Answer : Hamida will consider it as her insult
کیا حمیدہ اسے اپنی توہین نہ سمجھیں گی؟ 👈
جواب : حمیدہ اسے اپنی توہین سمجھے گی
👈 اس اندھیرے میں پتھر کہاں ملتا ؟
جواب : اس اندھیرے میں پتھر کہیں نہیں ملتا
👈 برا نہیں لگتا تمہیں ایسی بد شگونی کی بات زبان سے نکالتے ؟
جواب : ایسی بدشگونی کی بات زبان سے نکالتے تمہیں برا لگنا چاہیے۔
👈 وہ کیوں ان میں شمار کیا جائے ؟
جواب : وہ ان میں ہرگز شمار نہیں کیا جائے
